There is not much a photo viewer can do for you, besides showing you your pictures. If you want more information, you should look towards other solutions, like Regards Viewer. This lightweight application is capable of showing a huge amount of information for each individual picture. It can also help you locate pictures with specific characteristics and it lets you make some fine adjustments here and there.

Regards Viewer is absolutely free and it is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Downloading and installing the application is an uneventful task and it shouldn't take long to complete. Also, there are no special requirements you have to meet.

The user interface is divided into several panels, in which you can navigate through your local folders, view your pictures and various details about them and much more. Once you select an images folder, the interface will be populated with pictures and information immediately. You can view the images themselves in the central region of the interface and switch between them by clicking their thumbnails on a conveyor belt, in the lower part of the interface.

General statistics can be observed on the Criteria panel, where the software tells you how many images from certain dates you have, their source folder and where they were taken, if geo-tags are available. More information, about a selected image, can be found on a different panel. It includes everything, from the name of the artist how took the picture to resolution or format information.

A wide range of visual effects can be added to each picture. The available effects can be found on the information panel, on a separate tab, and you can apply them immediately, with a single click. What's more, Regards Viewer lets you manually adjust each effect, through a series of sliders.

Apart from the main image view, each panel on the user interface can be activated and deactivated separately. As a result, you can tailor the interface according to your own needs.
